DarkWood Cathedral is the most stunning building in SL. It exudes romance and tranquility with a hint of flair and drama. I stumbled upon it when first arriving in SL. Still to this day, I sit in one of the many towers or trapse the grounds. They do and can hold events and wedding ... oh to be wed in such a stunning place ...
An except from a notecard explaining the Cathedral's history:
...finished in the late summer of 2004 and is one of the oldest, if not the oldest, cathedral in Second Life. It sits on it's original spot within the PG fantasy/medieval themed sim of Darkwood. It was primarily built by Bill Sterling, reknown for his bridges and airports in SL, along with the help of Elror Gullwing and a few other friends. Since April of 2005 [Rhiannon Chatnoir] has been owner and caretaker of the cathedral.
